The orthopedic department will be considered one of the very few specialized pediatric orthopedic oncology practices in the Middle East and the only one of its kind in Iran. Our main concern will be the treatment of children diagnosed with malignant bone tumors.
Limb preserving surgery in children is challenging, especially after the improvement in survival of bone sarcomas. This entails us to choose a long lasting reconstructive option and minimize the risk for frequent surgeries as much as possible.
Orthopedic complications in children suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, neuroblastoma and others, are not few in Iran and the region and, therefore, will be require the services of this department.
The following services will be provided:
- Vascularized bone grafts and growing epiphyseal transfer.
- Expandable prosthesis.
Recycled bone grafts.
