Neurosurgery

Given the rising prevalence of CNS tumours in Iran,  the TAP Hospital aims to have the largest and most advanced pediatric brain tumor center in the Middle East.

The center will strive to become  considered a referral center for all complex brain and spinal cord tumors from all over the Middle East.

All surgeries will be performed with the aid of a pentero microscope and brain lab navigation system with the most up to date software. Intra operative ultrasound and neurophysiologic monitoring is also used to ensure the best outcome with the maximum tumor resection.

All our future cases will be discussed in a combined clinic meeting on a weekly basis with the attending of a highly qualified neuro-oncology team, both national and international, to reach the best decision regarding their continuous management.

 

We will aim to introduce novel neurosurgical technology to the Middle East, provided by Brainlab.

 

Intra-Operative MRI:

Re-operation rates of recurring brain tumors are significant, but can potentially be minimized with intra-operative high-field imaging resection control.

Brainlab iMRI integrates intra-operative MRI with surgical planning and ceiling-mounted navigation, allowing full utilization of intra-operative data for informed decision making during procedures.
